How to Store Pans and Pots Properly

Every homemaker knows: pans and pots take up a lot of space, and storing them conveniently while protecting their coating is a real art. This is especially true for non-stick, ceramic, and glass cookware. Improper storage leads to scratches, chips, and loss of appearance.
- Don’t stack them as a “pyramid.” Many people nest cookware inside each other — it saves space but harms the coating. To avoid scratches, place fabric or silicone pads between items; even kitchen towels work.
- Use hooks and rails. Pans with comfortable handles can be hung on the wall or under a shelf. This frees up cupboard space and gives your kitchen a cozy, professional look.
- Store lids separately. Use special holders for the inside of cabinet doors or compact stands. This prevents lids from slipping and scratching pots.
- Avoid storing wet cookware. Even stainless steel can stain over time, and enamel may crack. Always dry items thoroughly before putting them away.
- Consider how often you use them. Keep everyday pans and pots within easy reach, and store rarely used ones on upper shelves.
Proper storage extends the life of your cookware and keeps your kitchen more comfortable and organized.
